DLSPLIT - Software to process
driver's license data

Description
|
|
DLSPLIT is
a program that accepts driver's license
data scanned from an AAMVA-compatible
magnetic stripe reader that is connected
to a "PC-compatible" host computer. As
the drivers license is scanned, DLSPLIT
reformats the 16 data fields and
displays the results on the screen. Data
can also be written to an output file.

Note about drivers licenses!
• Not all states
use mag stripe encoding on
their drivers licenses.
• Just because
your state has mag stripe
encoding does NOT mean the
format is AAMVA-compatible.
Just because your
license reads ok doesn't mean
your brother's license will
read ok (Some states are
running differing standards
concurrently)!
• There is NO
universal standard for
encoding data on drivers
licenses. The most universal
encoding format is published
by the AAMVA. (Efforts to
adopt the AAMVA format as a
universal standard have met
with resistance from several
groups. Additional details
available at the AAMVA
site.)
• DLSPLIT is
designed to read the magnetic
stripe on AAMVA-compatible
driver's licenses ONLY. If
you scan a driver's license
into DLAGE and get a "Scan
Error" the most-likely cause
is a driver's license format
that is not AAMVA-compatible.
(The least-likely
cause is a defective magnetic
stripe reader.)

|
- Auto Dealerships
- Acquire customer information, including
driver's license number and automatically
flag the display if the driver's license
is expired. Optionally, use computer
keyboard to input "Salesman ID,"
"Customer's Phone Number" and "Extension"
prior to driver's license scan and append
to the customer's record.
- Clubs, Bars,
Restaurants, C-Stores - Swipe
driver's license into DLSPLIT to confirm
patron's legal age real time (based on
clock setting of computer).
- Health Clubs, Personal
Trainers - Date and time stamp
card swipe data for use as a billing
aid.
- General Retail -
Use DLSPLIT to expedite adding customers
to your monthly mailer. Reduces
keyboarding errors, too.

Features

- Numerous
configuration options customize DLSPLIT
for your specific application
- Scan can be
preceeded by keyboard input of "Salesman
ID," "Phone Number" and "Phone
Extension"
- Each driver's
license field name can be edited in the
configuration file. The custom field name
is displayed on the screen along with the
appropriate data
- Any (or all) driver's license
fields can be displayed on the
screen
- Any (or all)
driver's license fields can be written to
a "comma-delimited" output file.
("Comma-delimited" files can be imported
into Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and
many other word processing, spreadsheet
and database programs)
- Birthday field
can be configured to highlight screen
data if age below preset value. Age
alert/highlight calculated real time
(based on clock setting of
computer).
- DL Expiration
field screen data highlighted if DL is
expired
- Each record can
be written to output file with date/time
stamp

a text-base program that does not require
Windows to run.)

Windows XP!)
