Cash Drawer Wiring & Control Codes

The following table shows connector wiring and control codes for "solenoid only" receipt printer-triggered cash drawers.

Deferred command. Code is inserted into data buffer and trips the drawer whenever the character is queued for printing from the buffer.
 2 
Immediate. Drawer is immediately tripped independent of the data buffer.
 3 
Extended duration trigger pulse.
 4 
Applicable only for printers equipped with autocutter.
 
  
Control codes are decimal ASCII surrounded by brackets (<>).
  
Many newer printers can be configured to emulate the Epson / ESCPOSTM control codes.
